16.5 Acres In Dayton Tennessee

Second Floor - Part 4 of an endless number of posts

We really have to come up with a new post title! The second floor isn't exactly complete here (and a week later, still isn't 100%. Building a house is a lot of work!) but as new things start to take shape I'll find new titles.

We have a fully covered porch and a partial wall above it. This will give us a ton of height in the great room once they add the roof lines on top of that. We have a couple of fixed pane windows that will go in these openings.

We love the look of the porch and the nice overhang they did.

The gable is now complete in the side bedroom for a window. I will 100% be adding a window seat into this space. I've always wanted one and now I have the opportunity to make sure they don't put a heating vent right in front of the window so I can make this happen down the road!

Added a Mike for scale of the gable area. It doesn't feel too tight.

It's really cool the way they have started to tie all the different elements of the house into each other.

Since we are still on a bit of a slope on the lot, the back deck will only have a handful of stairs, but you can really see the proportion of the front wall with a Mike for scale!

Our gable from the outside. Our contractors mentioned maybe wanting to add a second gable on this side of the house in our storage space, which will eventually become a home theater room. We were for it, then against, it, then for it... you see the pattern.

You'll see our final choice in the next post!

Toodles!
