16.5 Acres In Dayton Tennessee

Second Floor Part 2 of at least 4

We had some beautiful 70 degree days this week so Wednesday the crew got SO MUCH done!

We come right about 4:15 and they were just cleaning up for the day. And look at that - we have the start of our roof line!

Looking down the unfinished space that will be above the garage. Mike is already researching best practices when building a theater room.

And that space from the loft area.

Our dilemma this day is what we are calling the "Side" bedroom was built a bit different than our original floor plan. The first floor ended up a bit different overall, so it just compounded onto the second floor. These two door ways shouldn't have been right next to each other. One will go to the storage space, and the other will go to the bedroom.

And they started to frame in the closet for the side bedroom here as well. You can start to see here that part of the wall will have slope in this bedroom which we were not quite expecting either.

But, the bedroom ended up about 4 feet longer than originally planned. I mean extra square footage it always nice, I just wonder by how much it will throw our flooring and drywall budget off.

We also asked for a window to get added on this wall. We are working from a couple of different drawings. One had windows, one didn't (but didn't in the other room either) so they didn't originally plan to put one here. But since the crew was still there, we got that fixed right away and are getting a dormer added to this space.

As we sat and contemplated the changes that happened from our original design (and if we were going to ask them to change anything or leave it as-is), I realized I hadn't gotten a photo of the staircase on this trip :)

They also added the back wall to the loft and added a window here. We are going to have so much natural light I can't freakin wait!

To me this all looks like a mess and I wonder how they are going to tie it all in. But, we have seen some beautiful houses that this crew has built and they all look lovely. So again, for the third time this week, we are just going to trust in our crew to make it look beautiful.

Some more views down the side bedroom and storage space.

And views we won't get to see much longer.

Then there are some sides of the house we haven't gotten from the outside at all yet. Since we hadn't had rain in a couple of days, the ground was dry enough to walk all the way around and capture this stage of the process.

We also had a moment on our way out to really see the view of the house before you turn off the main road, through the trees. You can definitely see something going on right now with all the leaves down.

This has all happened in about 2.5 weeks and they told us this was slow! I am surprised at everything they do every day!

More updates tomorrow!
